The Balaton Uplands National Park
The Balaton Uplands National Park was established on about 57 thosand hectares of land by merging several protected areas in Veszprém and Zala county in 1997. The National Park consists of the Kis-Balaton, the Tihany Peninsula, the Pécselyi Basin, the Káli Basin, Badacsony and the Tapolca Basin, the Keszthely Mountains, Tátika and Kovácsi Mountain.Several protected animal and plant species of Europe can be found here, as well as geological, natural and cultural values.
