The Festetics Palace
The Festetics Palace, that can be found in Keszthely, is a historic monument of outstanding value.They started its building in the mid18th century,but it was finished only in the 1880s. The Palace has 101 rooms. The statue of the most famous member of the Festetics family, Count György Festetics, who had a great influence on cultural life, can be found in front of the entrance of the palace.Today it is one of the most beautiful and most visited palaces in Hungary operating as a museum and event venue.In its White Mirror Room operetta performances are organized.They collected books for Hungary’s sole intact aristocratic private library for nearly two centuries.The House of the Balatonian Wines, which awaits its guests with various wine tasting programs, opened its doors in the 500-year-old cellar-system of the palace in 2005.
